La Cocina is a non­profit incu­ba­tor kitchen inspired by the eth­ni­cally diverse, eco­nom­i­cally vul­ner­a­ble com­mu­nity we are sur­rounded by–food lies at the heart of the Mis­sion and you don’t have to look far to find hid­den entre­pre­neurs in the kitchen of many homes. La Cocina was cre­ated out of the belief that given the cor­rect resources, these nat­ural entre­pre­neurs can cre­ate self-sufficient busi­nesses that ben­e­fit them­selves, their fam­i­lies, and their community.

La Cocina is cur­rently home to twenty busi­nesses and a grow­ing num­ber of grad­u­ates that rep­re­sent all aspects of local food from gourmet cater­ing to spe­cialty prod­ucts to farm­ers mar­ket stands. Through these “Cor­por­tate Options” we want to bring peo­ple from the Bay Area’s busi­ness com­mu­nity into our kitchen and our neigh­bor­hood and give them the oppor­tu­nity to meet our micro-business own­ers and try their amaz­ing prod­ucts. We hope you’ll agree, once you get a taste of their food, just how much tal­ent and pas­sion these entre­pre­neurs pour into their work and into devel­op­ing their ideas into busi­nesses that sup­port and sus­tain them eco­nom­i­cally and personally.
