June 16, 2011 — Traci Des Jardins concluded her stint on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters a couple of months ago, and had to keep the amazing secret that, as a competitor who made it to the final three, she won $30,000 for La Cocina, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that serves as an incubator for food businesses operated by minority women and the organizer of the San Francisco Street Food Festival and National Street Food Conference. Finally, with the airing of the season finale last night (in which New York chef Floyd Cardoz took home the title), Des Jardins can finally express her excitement at having made it to the end of a grueling, 22-day production in order to donate to an organization that she’s so passionate about, she once served on its board of directors.
